This fantastic coffee hails from a blend of smallholder coffees from Frailes, Bustamante and Aserri in the Tarrazu region of Costa Rica.
Tarrazu is among Costa Rica's most famous growing region for good reason: The nearby Pirris river provides water to the highland region and the high altitudes of the Talamanca Sierra mountain range creates warm days and cool nights which promotes slow maturation and a sweet, dense bean.
This coffee supports over 800 small farmers producing the equivalent of 7 bags per year on average. The coffee is received, evaluated and blended according to flavour at the dry mill in Palmichal de Acosta.
